Diary Entry 9: A overview of this year

Dear Diary,

Looking back on this school year at Hogwarts, I can't believe I made it through- literally. This year has been full of excitement, peril, confusion, and happy endings. Harry, Ron, and I have had to face loosing Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts, dealing with the evil and sinister Professor Umbridge, being on the sidelines of the Order of the Phoenix, losing our favorite teacher and best friend, Hagrid, and facing Voldemort once again.
It is amazing to think that we, once again, slipped the grasp of Voldemort. We don't know where he is now or what he is planning, but we were able to defeat him in an amazing battle inside the Department of Mysteries. I am now confident that one day, we will be able to defeat him once and for all.
Dumbledore has, thankfully, resumed his position as headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and has also regained the respect of the Ministry of Magic.
Also, Hagrid has returned to teach our Care of Magical Creatures class. I am so grateful to have him back. Although, he can be crazy and find dangerous animals amusing, Harry, Ron, and I love him dearly.
It will be interesting to see where next year will take us.

Diary Entry 8: Another Dream

Dear Diary,

Harry had another dream. But this time, He had a dream that Sirius, Harry's Godfather and only real relative, was being tortured by you-know-who in the department of mysteries in the Ministry of Magic Headquarters. Harry was very frightened. He wanted to leave to save him right away.
I was very hesitant that it would just be a trap and that Sirius was perfectly fine. I told Harry that he needed to make sure before he went anywhere. We decided that we would create a diversion so that Harry could sneak into Professor Umbridge's office to use her fire place to see if Sirius was at his house. Unfortunately, Sirius wasn't home and we got caught by professor Umbridge.  We narrowly escaped her and made our way to the Ministry of Magic Headquarters.
I don't know how much more of this I will be able to take. I hope that things will calm down soon.

Diary Entry 7: Harry's dream

Dear Diary,

I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little concerned for Harry. He has been continuously having dreams that are quite disturbing. But, last night he had the strangest and most frightening dream of all.
Last night, Harry had a dream that a serpent had attacked Mr. Weasley. The snake had bit him violently in the arm. The strange part though, was that in Harry's dream he actually was the serpent.
It only gets weirder though. His dream actually happened. Voldemort's serpent actually did attack Mr. Weasley and he nearly died. He was rushed to St. Mungo's, the wizard hospital. Everyone is very concerned as to why Harry watched this event actually happen. It seems like it is awesome that he was able to save Mr. Weasley, but for some reason, all the members of the Order of the Phoenix are very concerned. I wish they would tell me what is going on. I feel very helpless with the whole situation, and I'm sure Harry is very frightened.

Diary Entry 6: Dumbledore's Army

Dear Diary,

I have some very exciting news. Recently, I proposed the idea to Harry, and asked him to teach Ron and I practical Defense Against the Dark Arts. Because Professor Umbridge won't let us use real magic in her class, I thought we would need some practice. At first he opposed the idea very strongly. But, he eventually changed his mind!
After he agreed to teach us, I decided to go around and ask people who I thought may be interested in learning too, if they wanted to join in on these lessons. I was thrilled to see the amount of people that were interested in joining.
Not only did we get a great crowd, but we found the perfect place to have our meetings. In Hogwarts, there is a place called the room of requirements. The door to this room only shows up if you really need something. And, because we really needed a secret place to hold our meetings, the door appeared for us to meet.
The first meeting went tremendously. We decided to call our group the D.A., which stands for Dumbledore's Army. We thought the name was very fitting. I can't wait to see where this group will take us!

Diary Entry 5: Some major changes at Hogwarts

Dear Diary,

So many things are different about Hogwarts this year. Sadly, all of the changes are very unfortunate. First off, Harry, Fred, and George have all been banned from playing Qudditch forever. This has taken a huge toll on all of them, especially Harry. Harry found so much joy in playing Qudditch. I feel very sorry for him and believe that is was way to harsh of Professor Umbridge to ban him for life.
Professor Umbridge has taken a toll on the entire school as a whole. She is constantly making new decrees that prevent almost any joy. She sits in on classes to inspect teachers and it makes the professors very anxious and annoyed. She has already publicly sacked Professor Trelawny, the Divination teacher. I am very fearful that Hagrid will be sacked next. She has already put him on probation and sits in every one of his classes. You can clearly tell that Professor Umbridge does not like half breed, since Hagrid is part giant.
I just hope that Dumbledore will take action as soon as possible, because before we know it, Umbridge will be ruling over the school!

Diary Entry 4: Some new faces

Dear Diary,

Over the past months, I have met many new people. Some are members of the Order of the Pheonix and some are from Hogwarts. Two people that have made the most lasting impression are Tonks and Professor Umbridge.
Tonks is one of the members of the Order of the Pheonix. She is also an Auror for the Ministry of Magic. Aurors are people who fight against the dark arts of magic and capture dark wizards. Unfortunately, the Ministry of Magic refuses to believe you-know-who is back, so Tonks has to keep her membership to the Order top secret. Tonks also helps keep Sirius out of Azkaban, the wizard prison. Tonks is something called a "metamorphmagus". This special power enables her to change her physical appereance on command. Because of this skill, she is great at making different disguises.
Professor Umbridge is the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts along with the title of High Inquisitor. She is absolutely dreadful. Not only does she not allow students to actually use magic during her lessons, but she punishes severely anyone who says that you-know-who has returned. On top of it also hates Harry. Prefessor Umbridge was sent to Hogwarts by the Ministry of Magic because they do not believe that Dumbledore is an adequate headmaster. Professor Umbridge is clearly power hungry and desires to make every decision for the school. She is constantly making new decrees that are passed by the Minister of Magic himself. She is a terrible woman!

Diary Entry 3: House Elves

Dear Diary,

Why must house elves be so oppressed? They are mistreated and misused and I must take a stand. Kreacher, the house elf of Sirius' home, is where I intend to start. As of last year, I have held my association, S.P.E.W.. This group fights to free house elves and have them work for wages just as everyone else. Unfortunately, only Harry an Ron have joined and I don't see why others wouldn't want to join.
The house elves are, for some reason, opposed to the idea of being free. I'm sure it's only because they have never known anything else beside living in captivity. Our friend Dobby is a great example of a elf who has found joy in being free. He was previously owned by the Malfoy family, but Harry set him free a few years back. Since then, Dobby has become employed at Hogwarts where he cleans, cooks, and does what house elves do best. He even earns wages!
I hope that I can convince Kreacher that a free life is better, but so far he has opposed. I will keep trying!

Diary Entry 2: Ignorance is not always bliss

Dear Diary,

I am currently still with the Weasley family at the Order of the Phoenix Headquarters. As much as I am enjoying being with my friends and loved ones, I am beginning to struggle with not being allowed to know what is going on.
The Order is having secret meetings quite frequently, during which me and the rest of the Weasley family are sent upstairs because is is apparently "top secret information". The members of the Order of the Phoenix believe that we are to young to know what is going on and do not think that we would be able to handle it well. I strongly disagree with that.
Luckily, Fred and George Weasley are great at making sneaky magical contraptions. Typically, I would not encourage them, but this is a completely different matter. Fred and George have managed to create something that they call "Extendable Ears". You connect these things to your ear and the other end travels to the area where you would like to hear the conversation. Typically they work, but Mrs. Weasley has started noticing and has been catching us more frequently.
On top of this all, Ron an I are not allowed to send Harry any letters to keep him updated. We haven't been able to talk to him all summer and we even had to miss his birthday. I'm sure he is mad at us and confused as to why we aren't keeping in touch like we promised.

Diary Entry 1: My Current Home

Dear Diary,

So much has gone on since the beginning of our summer break away from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I have since left my mother and father in order to stay in touch with the wizarding world. I am currently living with the Weasley family, but not at their normal home.
The Weasley family and I are currently living in a home that is magically hidden from the rest of the world. We are currently residing at Sirius Black's childhood home which is found at 12 Grimmauld Place, London. We are living here because it is the headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix, to which Mr. and Mrs. Weasley belong.
Now, you may be asking what the Order of the Phoenix is. The Order of the Phoenix is a secretive group of wizards who are actively trying to defeat you-know-who... Voldemort. Unfortunately, I am to young to be personally a member of the Order and the others are very against me knowing any information.
Sirius' home is quite dreadful, unfortunately. Sirius' parents, ironically, had been supporters of you-know-who while they were still living. The entire house shows it too. All the door knobs look like serpents, which are one of the signs for the dark side of magic. There are many living portraits who are not entirely happy that the Order of the Phoenix has made it's headquarters here, specifically a portrait of Sirius' mother. Anytime a loud noise is made, she begins to scream curses at us.
Hopefully, things will begin to get better, but only time will tell.
